Missionaries and Christian Workers Are Over-worked

A missionary couple and their family visited the ACTION office in the Seattle area and gave an excellent report of their ministry in the Philippines. They work with several other missionary couples, Filipino couples and single team members in ministry to street and underprivileged children in discipleship and vocational training.

Even though this is their main responsibility, their ministry has expanded to reach their extremely poor neighborhood with classes, Bible studies for women, sport camps, church planting, health clinics, counseling, income generating training, and so forth.

At the end of their report, they mentioned that the Filipino Christian workers and missionaries they work with are all over-worked. Besides working in their regular jobs, they are pastors of churches on weekends and are involved in various counseling and discipleship ministries. The call from them is, “Pray for additional workers and missionaries. The harvest is ripe, the need is great for harvesters.”

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:36-38, nasb).
